Meet New Orleans' Very Own Rahmón P

Rising Artist Rahmón P gave us the pleasure to interview him exclusively on The Booth Magazine, and he has some major news too.

The artist gave us the inside scoop on his new self-produced release with Fat Joe, inspiration behind "Keep Score" and a sneak peak on his upcoming projects he has on the way.

Exclusive Interview:

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My latest release is named "Keep Score". It's hosted by Fat Joe and produced by me. I was inspired to create this song by the journey to achieving any goal in life and the focus it takes to where you barely have time or mental space to keep score of the wins while in route to the final destination you desire.

What is unique about you and your music?

My ability to create and control every aspect of a song from playing the instruments, arranging, production, writing, and recording. As well as the way I blend certain colors and subject matter.

What shaped your music?

I'd say my upbringing in visual arts and different styles of musical schooling. My environment growing up and drive for better in life played a major part too.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

I knew early at maybe 7 or 8 once I started getting recognition for my work.

What type of music do you listen to?

Mostly hip hop, rnb, and soul; listened to a lot of blues and jazz growing up too.

What inspires you to write music?

The ups and downs of life, betterment of self and surroundings, and how I choose to navigate the journey to reaching my goals

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

It's rare that I'm not doing something dealing with music but when I can I like to study myself/life, celebrate with loved ones, or take a vacation for some new scenery.

Happiness to you is…

Peace, love and balance

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

I would tell them to invest in yourself and not to seek validation in outside opinions.

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

I have a couple new projects in the works. The next one is coming in December it's a new album fully produced by me named PATTERNS. Be on the lookout for that it's gonna be crazy.

Any last words for the readers?

For sure, I wanna tell everybody thanks for rocking with me, hope you enjoy the new music and stay safe. Peace and blessings to you
